Nikki Kuhnhausen, a transgender, who went missing on 5th June 2019 was found dead in December 2019, six months after her death.
On her three-year death anniversary, the American television show “48 hours” dedicated an episode titled “The Life And Death life Nikki Kuhnhausen” to her on Saturday, 25th June 2022.
Three years after her death, Nikki’s legacy lives on. “48 Hours” is honored to be given the 2022 “Excellence in Network Television” award by NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists.

After she went missing, her mother filed a missing complaint in which she stated that Nikki went out to meet her boyfriend after which she never returned.
As per the police investigation, it is now revealed that she was killed by her boyfriend only, named David Bogdanov after Nikki told her that she was a transgender.
Her body and several of her items were found in December 2019 on a remote road on Larch Mountain. The cause of her death was revealed to be strangulation with a cord that was found near her dead remains.
It was found later during the investigation that it was David himself who killed her. He was later arrested and charged with the murder case.
During his testimony, David said that he killed her in self-defense when she attempted to attack him after being called “disgusting” by him.
, he was found guilty of second-degree murder and malicious harassment and was sentenced to imprisonment for 19 and a half years. Currently, he is imprisoned at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, Mason County.
