He was the brother of two of his siblings, whose names are not known.

Bernard Cribbins left school when he was only 13 years old and took up a job as an assistant stage manager in a local theatre club, where, he also did small acting jobs. Later, he attended the Oldham Repertory Theatre and his first stage performance was in “A Comedy of Errors” in 1956. His first film was released in 1957 and the last one was “Patrick” in 2018. He made his debut on television in 1956 with “David Copperfield”.

Bernard Cribbins was known for his roles in films like “Fawlty Towers”, “Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.” in the role of Tom Campbell, and “Right Said Fred”.
