Essop suddenly disappeared last month while driving home on Weltevreden Road from her workplace. Since her missing report was filed, many people, including some social workers and her family, looked out for her, but all in vain.

Essop was found after being recognized by a member of a neighborhood watch at a garage, after which, he called up the police. The woman claimed to have been kidnapped and asked to call her husband but nobody listened to her. She finally, returned home on Saturday, 11th June 2022.
