Bhupinder Singh was born on 6th February 1940 in Amritsar, Punjab, British India. His father was Natha Singhji who was a trained singer. Singh took his early lessons in music under his father only.
Bhupinder Singh started his career at the All India Radio, Delhi, and also performed at Delhi Doordarshan Center, Delhi. He started singing when he was called to Mumbai by music director Madan Mohan for the film “Haqeeqat” in 1964.
He is known to have worked with some of the most popular Indian playback singers like Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Gulzar, etc.
